Oh, what a Babymoon!

We just got home from a 3 day "Babymoon" in Pacific Grove, California. If you haven't heard of a "Babymoon" than you aren't alone! It's become more and more popular in the last few years. Simply put, it's a trip for you and your Sweetheart to get away before the baby comes into the picture. We took full advantage of this trip knowing that on our next vacation, and for the rest of our lives, we will be parents!

A fun thing we decided to incorporate was to review each place we went on Yelp! This became a fun assignment and we had a blast doing it. Here are a few pictures of the places that we ate....

If you haven't been to Phil's Fish Market then you have to try it! Located in Moss Landing, the restaurant has family style seating, live music, friendly staff and really great food!

There are maps by the restrooms for people who visit to place a pin! A great idea!

Latte Art at PG Juice and Java

Best Bakery in Pacific Grove! Recommended to us by a dear friend. Pavel's Bakerie has the most amazing pastries we have ever had. The Berry Cream Cheese Danish was out of this world!

We got to take long walks, visit Cannery Row, eat lots of great food and relax! It was a great trip to re-connect and focus on being us for the next few weeks until our life changes for the better.

One sweet thing was that we got to see a lot of deer in the local cemetery. There were several mommy deer and baby deer :)

Last, but not least, I had my first stranger walk past me in Trader Joe's and she said, "Oh, look what a beautiful tummy!" It was the perfect end to a perfect trip!

Reflections

I've been going through a journal I've kept since I learned that we were pregnant. The excitement and joy that were penned on those first pages are the same feelings that I feel today. As the third trimester is upon us and the clock is ticking (less than 11 weeks now!) I'm starting to feel anxious, in a good way, and learning to trust God as I think of labor and delivery. Hundreds of thousands of women have done it, so it must be ok, right??!?

Cameron & I are headed out tomorrow to spend our "Babymoon" by the ocean. Our last vacation as the two of us! I'll post pictures next week :)

We bought a fun guided journal last week called "The Belly Book." Everyone should get one if they are pregnant! It lets you write about each week and record your doctor's appointments, your cravings, and post belly pictures for each week and trimester.
